Hi!

Anybody knows is there any thing/machine to control the tempo on Korg Volca Keys without a laptop, or without the other Korg Volcas, or without any app for the iphone?

Thank you very much,

A drum machine with small wave (snare/sine) set to 8th's (I think).
I use an ER-1 ,and a Kaoss pad also for this ,were the sample loop (on the KP3) locks my Monotribe or VKeys to tight sync with its samples loops.
Anything that pulses sound with a tempo control.

For external clock I use my MidiPal (from Mutable Instruments) - see following link:

Either you go directly via Midi-In or you use a Midi to clock - converter as shown in my video.

There is a tempo knob on the Volca Keys.

There is, but there is no display to tell you the tempo of the keys.

Thank you very much Chris-Korg! I'm going to do what you say! But do you know if there any machine like the Midi Pal, because I see that it's discontinued from 2014...?

Yes Slug, but I don't know yet how to put it at 124 bpm Wink

Don't know how much a midi pal is, but an iPod 4 may be a good investment at the right price.Lots of free/very cheap apps.

Midipal can do much more than just Midi-clock, price was around € 100.- which is justified for all the features... (I have 5 of those beauties Very Happy )
Maybe you can get a used one somewhere.

Otherwise you need to google for an (vintage) alternative, you should also consider the modular-world.

Seems that Midipal has a successor:
http://midisizer.com/midigal/

Contacted them - they also assemble it for you Smile

Price is around EUR 120.- plus shipping (without casing) - as they describe it they have their own firmware but you can also put the original MidiPal-firmware on.
