Don't think so.

STYLEs - no, but by programs I assume you mean SOUNDs
Korg only claim upward compatibility.

The SOUND structures have differences - PA1X has max 5 oscillators - PA600 has 24.

Cheers

Thanks. The oscillators are different. Though how different would it sound if transferred-if it somewhat resembles the same sound.. (unless it cant transfer whatsoever).. Or how about convert the file somehow on computer..

If you are talking about just a few SOUNDs then get the configuration details from the PA600 (SOUND MODE) and manually enter them on the PA1X.
If the PA600 SOUND has more than 5 oscillators (etc), then you have an uphill battle.

Why not get yourself a PA600? Wink

Seriously I don't think this is going to work for you.

Pete I am not sure that is correct pete . since version 3 update on the PA1X you can have up to 16 Oscillators per voice which in itself is just insane flexbility for sound design on any synth. I doubt the PA600 will use as many or more than 16 Oscillators per individual voice.

great to see you still active on the forum by the way. I pop in from time to time Very Happy

Hey Worth

How are you buddy?
Always great to hear from you and know you are still around pounding a Korg!!!

16 oscillators - whoops - I was going from the manual and forgot about the updates

Yeah - good point. I still wonder exactly what would happen loading (or attempting to load) a SOUND from the PA600 in terms of how the multisamples would be mapped.
I still reckon that it won't work too well.
I am unsure what other SOUND configuration parameters would be different between those models.
I'm fascinated now!!!!

Take care
