Hey

It's been a while since I last uploaded a set of variations on the soundpacks Korg gave us.
But here it is... so go to
You'll see a couple files there...
sv1_mar2015.SV1 - this is the data file of my SV-1 patch settings
sv1_mar2015.JPG/PDF/DOC - file of patch settings in various formats
Click on the *.SV1 file, it should download to your computer. Here's what's inside...

    FAVES
The top 4 are various electric pianos; split-key patches are in the 5-8 slots.

    INSTRUMENTS (in order)
    9 Rhodes, 3 Dyno Rhodes, 4 clavs, 1 DX7, 1 Roland SD1000, 6 Steinways, 3 organs, 3 Yamaha CP70's, 6 various pads

NOTES
The simplistic color-coding in the pic is intentional. I only wanted a FEW sounds but in a variety of flavours. So I've left out some; no uprights, Yamaha grand or mono piano. Only one DX7 patch. Organ patches were trimmed as well.

I've included song titles for many of the patches, but many of these are not accurate descriptions, some only for my amusement. haha.

Used pitch mod on many patches or some echo+flange... it gives many of them a watery or dreamy sound.

OCTAVE DOWN
I really recommend trying octave-down on some of these patches if you use a 73-key like myself.
It's pretty simple:

    1) press TRANSPOSE button for a couple seconds, until it starts to blink
    2) once it blinks press C3 for octave down or C5 for octave up
    3) the SV-1 will change to that octave and the TRANSPOSE button will remain lit
    4) to return to normal press the TRANSPOSE button again

ps - I added the DOC version in case someone wants to re-edit the patchlist image Smile

Excellent post Binky! Thanks for all that you've done.
Really, you should get the prize for most helpful post of the week.

Thanks Binky!! Wonder why it says that E piano patch sounds like "smells like teen spirit" (no keys in that song)

I think the "Teen Spirit" one would probably go in the "for my own amusement" category, LOL

teen spirit is a split-key patch with

    l.h.Fretless Bass
    r.h. Electric Piano with uni-vibe/flanger/delay

i noodle it as a 4-bar aeolian loop in F

    l.h. |:F F - - |Bb Bb - - |Ab Ab - - | Db Db - - :|
    r.h. |: - - C F |- - Bb Ab | - - C Db | - - C Ab :|

works well with old drum machine samba.. add swing to taste or play square to the bar for a more kraftwerkian flavour
