Hi, I'm having some issues with my PA3X. Some keys near the LCD stopped working (Global, Media, Record, Track Select, Lyrics, Score). This is a "crescent" problem, it began some months ago when Global, Media, Record and Track Select stopped some times, so I just restart the unit and most of the time everything back working fine (a good sign that restart would bring the keys working again is a loud and short 'crack' noise while booting). Sometimes, even without rebooting unit, while playing for some minutes, the keys back to work (always after the loud noise and showing the screens of every key I had pressed before). Some weeks ago the Media, Lyrics and Score stopped too and as for a miracle, back to work BUT the Global, Media, record and Track Select never more returned. I really believe this is not a hardware failure, but something in software. So, I made a Factory Restore, I disconnect the battery, but no way to bring them again. I read tons of topics here looking for something but no success.
I'm living very, very far from nearest Service Center, so this is not a easy option.
Anyone could gimme some light? Thanks in advance.
Sorry about wrong English. |

Official Service is the best option but if you want to give a try , disassemble carefully Pa3X (if out of guarantee )
and check the right beneath board circuit where these switches are layed on !
This is probably not a burned IC or any component , it's just a discontinued copper strip junction or the cable jacks
are not seated well.
Temperature alterations cause the occasional working of tabs but the majority will soon fail if board will not be
repaired or replaced !
Good luck _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Great advise, Antony. Thank so much. I'll try this shot.
Actually, it began to happen after some weeks I moved from Boston to Brazil. Certainly is cable jacks bad seated. |
