Different questions about this new machine :
Is it possible to transpose the pitch of a sequence up and down ?
Is it possible to play a sample on the pads like a keyboard ?
Is it possible to transpose the pitch of the sequence and play a sample like a note via an external midi keyboard ? |

This might help:
Turn your pitch knob to these to these four positions. Bare in mind, you could still be kicked out of tune since Scale mode does not over-ride note data like it does in step edit mode.

1. It is possible to transpose patterns, look into the Scale Mode function, it's primary use is to be able to transpose entire sequences. It's a tad confusing, but the parameter guide says all you need to know IE set it before entering note data (and it is independently set per part which is very useful if you want to transpose the bass line up a fifth or something). So plan ahead.
It takes the note data and transposes the entire sequence up or down based on the interval jump (in half steps) you are making between keys. So it may take some tweaking if you have notes out of key to begin with (from my experience anyways). But it's a pretty straight forward mode if you just use the pads to enter note data.
2. You can play samples on the pads like a keyboard, that is what the keyboard mode does (also works via midi). Chord mode also does this as well.
3. Again, yes, you can control parts via a midi keyboard as long as the keyboard's midi channel is set to the correct part (1 - 16). Transposing a parts sequence via Scale Mode is independent of that as it only applies to the pads and built in sequencer, the pitch knob effects the oscillator/samples tuning so if you use that to transpose things, the midi inputs pitch will be effected (because the sound itself is edited). If you plan on using midi a lot remember to check the midi implementation in the manual. (spoilers, no pitch bend because who knows why)
What SMK says is also good info, though the pitch knob (as they point out) can be a tad confusing given it's odd values. I prefer Scale Mode, but that requires some knowledge of the key/scale you are in to transpose things correctly. But really that just means you need to know the key you are in, which is basic. The menu for setting the key and scale is really easy to set though, so it may be easier to set than I am making it out to be.
Hope this helps
