Hi, I have an ESX which show the message "N_Initlz Error" on startup.
Does anyone knows what this could be? |

I am not sure what the problem is. If you have consistently saved all of your work, you could try a factory reset, then load the contents of the card to get your work back. Turn the machine off, then hold "solo" and "write" to initiate the reset. Then load the card.
If you haven't been saving your work you will lose everything, but it looks like you probably have anyway, whatever the problem is.. If you have lost everything let me know and I'll send you some sample sets to get you rolling again. _________________ Visit https://ghostwrittenclips.com for a FREE pack of robot-war/mech/cinematic fx samples. =) |

Thanks anyway, but that doesn't seem to work. When I press "play" to confirm the reset, the message "N_Initlz Error" shows up again.. |

I Get this from other forum:
Quote: | Sounds like a blown fuse. It's a pretty common issue with the ESX and EMX 'tribes. Mine is currently out of commission for the same reason. I'm waiting on the fuse in the mail from Digikey.
The original fuses used by Korg on these machines was rated .75A. After many issues, Korg decided the machines need a 1.5A fuse. Some people have had Korg service centers replace the fuse for free, and others haven't had the same luck. If you're steady with a soldering iron and don't mind tiny surface mount components, it's totally a diy fix. |
Good luck, mate. |

I already opened the ESX to conclude that the fuse has the same voltage on both ends being consequently ok.
I ran some tests from the service manual:
ERASE+PATTERN stopped the test and displayed "SM off x: " and all lights blinking
ERASE + PART EDIT stopped the test and displayed "NAND Fmt x:nFil" and all lights blinking
(in my EMX this test gives me NAND Fmt OK) |
