I don't have a pianists ears or training ( can't play piano) so can't appreciate the high quality in the kronos but I know what I like playing.

A-024 lost lake of souls.
Turn off the drums, turn off karma. That works for me.
Reminds me of midi grand in the M1.

Berlin Grand. Sounds brilliant, although the decay is a little too fast!

I guess I'm the only one that likes the Japanese Ruedess Grand, tweaked a bit?

I keep coming back to the German default piano. I kinda like the Oasis piano for cutting through the overly loud guitarists Smile on some songs as well.

You are not alone.
There are at least three of us that like it……you,me and Jordan himself…. Smile

I have several versions with different tweaks and eq settings, "to taste".
It did take a while before achieving the preferred results, but worth the effort.

I didn't really like the Japanese at first glance and loved the German so much that I have kind of ignored it. Perhaps it's worth another visit and a round of tweaking. The Yamaha C7 (or even C6) is one of my favorite real grands, I remember thinking it strange that I didn't like the Japanese Grand much.

Kronos pianos NEED a little bit of compression effect
to really cut the mix.
It adds presence and body too.

Try it and share the experience

For me I prefer the German dark grand sound but it really does depend on what I'm playing. The Japanese and Jordan Japanese cut through a dense mix live better but if it's just a solo piano section, that's when I go for the German piano.

Bought the new Kronos sound pack (couldn't resist the price Rolling Eyes ).
After just 5 minutes of playing the Berlin is now my favorite.

Reviving this thread from 3+ years ago because I've been fiddling with the piano programs lately, trying to find one that I like for rock or jazz band gigs.

It depends SO much on the monitor system I am using!

Right now I'm trying to tweak sounds for my Centerpoint Space Station 3 + Behringer sub. I find myself coming back to the "Stereo Boesy" program that no one mentioned in this thread. The others seem thin in comparison. But for any of them I have to add an EQ IFX and cut some of the mids.

But I feel like it is lacking dynamics. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Ivory?

I might be the only one on the planet who is not impressed pairing the SS3 with Kronos pianos. It sounds good but not great

It's not my go-to piano but I do use that Stereo Boesy from time to time.

You're not the only one! The midrange sounds awful without considerable tweaking. It also seems to get driven to distortion at relatively low volume on a rock stage.
