If I get one now, with the new OS, can I play styles, use Songbook, use the Vocal processor and harmonizer without fear of crashes or glitches?
Thanks!

Because of lack of response, I will assume the keyboard is NOT yet ready for use in a live, professional situation.

Hi Don
Lack of response in this current topic, but as you can see, last two pages of pa4x sub-forum is full of responses and feedback regarding pa4 issues for live use - so id say, it is not ready - yet.

I'm afraid so. I guess there's no hurry. I still have PA3x, SD7 and S970 here. However the first two will be gone the first of the year.
I get nervous without a backup in place, but the Yamaha is perfectly stable. I've never had one fail. Plan is for it to be the backup for the PA4X, if Korg will just cooperate. Smile
Thanks,
DonM

With all due respect to Paolo (one-man-army) - he keep trying but he can do only so much and what he is allowed to do/tell us.,- on the other side, Korg as a company is not co-operating (regarding arranger keyboards) and we were able to learn that in past 5+ years.

I used it LIVE no problem. I just played along with the Styles and everyone was loving it.

I probably use the Arranger wrong, as I was simply using a style and playing the tune.

But I don't know how to use the Songbook or messed with the Vocal Harmonizer.

What is the purpose of Songbook to play live?

That's good to know Steve, thanks.
The Songbook is where you can save your setups for the songs that you do. You can have the style, lead voices, lyrics, tempo, transpose, etc., all ready to go at the touch of the screen.
It is a powerful tool for quickly moving from song to song.
I read that there were some problems with it, but not sure what they are, or were.
I use the arranger like you do--pick a style and play, but it sure does help to have lots of them picked ahead of time!

Sorry for the delay Don, but i have been too busy playing the baby after the update! Yes it will do all you want and more. It's got a fabulous live feel. There seems to me to be only one or two minor adjustments to be made and the rest will be ehancements.
But i love it, and although it was very frustrating waiting for the OS update to come through, i'm so glad i stepped up to the Korg!

Love the piano, guitar samples amoungst lots of great styles and sounds
