|
|
Hi,
I'm running Cubase 8 on a windows 10 PC (64bit) and I've got an issue with the Legacy Cell plugin. When I load it into a song and open it, it just opens blank i.e. no GUI, it then usually crashes the VST Bridge.
The other Legacy synths open and work ok, it's just the Cell plugin, which incidently works fine in stand alone mode.
Korg support's only suggestion is to re-install, which I've done but to no avail. I had the same problem with Cubase 7 and windows 7 but thought the upgrades to the current system would help, but obviously it didn't
Any Ideas ?
Thanks |

Stuart- the whole issue with legacy Cell in particular has been going on for a long time. I tried all sorts of things trying to solve the problem to no avail. Also, Korg has done nothing to answer the issue or solve it. They've been very disappointing with this, because, at least for me, the Legacy Cell was one of THE best things about the whole Legacy plug-ins. You can look at other threads that talked about this, and I started one of them. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/raven-2741

The only way I could get Legacy Cell to work with my Cubase/W10 x64 system was to buy, install and configure jBridge https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/

Wow thanks Mauri. This is the only and first suggestion I have seen about how to cure the woes of not being able to use Legay Cell, which along with the Monopoly, is easily my favourite out of the whole Legacy collection. Doing a Google search and it's obvious people all over the place are using it to great effect as a solution. Cubase VST bridge things seems very unpredicatble I have had to close Cubase Artist 7 a few times due to lost connection to it. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/raven-2741

I should've mentioned, install the 32bit version of LegacyCell if you're going to use jBridge.
Good luck! _________________ Self built PC | Cubase 12 Pro | WaveLab Elements 11 | Windows 11 Pro x64 Dual Boot on 2 x SSDs + 3 x SSDs for samples and project files | Core 11th Gen i9-11900KF OCd 5.3GHZ | ROG STRIX Z590-A GAMING WIFI mobo | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL18 DDR4 | RME HDSPe AIO | ASUS Radeon RX 580 Series graphics | Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler| 2 x UAD2 Solo PCIe Accelerators | Corsair RM1000x 1000W Power Supply Fully Modular 80 Plus Gold | Mackie HR624 MKII monitors |

Thanks for the info guys, I think the problem started with Cubase 7. It works in stand alone mode, so not sure why it won't work in cubase especially as the other synths work fine. I would have thought that Korg could tweek the gui to make it work ? |

Same problem for me with Cubase 8.5 All Korg stuff works with exception of LegacyCell. I am sure this worked in version 7 but just crashes system.
One thing I did find curious is that if you install the 64 bit version it installs to program files (x86) on a 64 system.
If i install the 32 bit version cubase does not see it, i thought you could run 32bit without any other addons like VST Bridge?
Any advise appreciated. _________________ Regards Maax |
