Hi Friends

I can play MP3's easy enough but the Harmonies dont work with them. Oddly though the Double function does. I appears that I can get the Harmonies working on midi files ok also. Although I only tried two midi's , one worked and one didnt. Can anyone help here please?

To which the reply was a resounding nothing!

1. The harmony works off midi signals. MP3s are recordings, not midi. The Double function just reproduces your voice and does not need midi.
2. Some midi files have harmony signals embedded on a track, some do not.
Hope this helps.

The Only thought Im left with is why does it work just fine with my floor based TC Helicon Voice Live 3 when I play an MP3. Surely its the same system on the PA4X

On the Pa3x you can use the harmonizer with mp3s - I'd be surprised if this option wasn't available on the 4x.
On the 3x you hold down shift and press Harmony button, then change Type from Chord to MP3.

I didn't know that, but I never use MP3s from the kb anyway. I play them from my laptop when I take breaks.
I wonder how it determines the proper harmony on MP3? I suppose it analyses the sound...

Sorry to conclude they have apparently taken that facility away on the PA4X

I will double check when I get to work tonight, but maybe they left it off because not many used it? If enough people ask, they may reinstate it. Korg is good about that when it's possible.

I would say a modest adaptation of Voice Live 3. Besides, even with their flagship products this Mp3 harmonizer deal doesn't work well all the time. It really depends on how complicated the song is, and how it was mixed. I've tried them all (excluding the PA4x), and the Chord progression analysis part could be all over the place. It could also work well for some other tracks.
