|
|
Is there a way to set up a sequence on the Volca Keys or Bass to make it change key by pressing a new root note? I know I could copy a sequence to a new slot and modify the notes but was looking for another, more "on the fly" way of doing this.
Thanks,

I think because its a sequence and not an arpeggio you wont be able to do it without using some sort of external trick, that being either an external sequencer or a simple pitch shifter pedal used by guitarist and the like _________________ Korg gear past and present:- DW6000, DW8000, MicroKorg, MicroKontrol, R3, Nintendo Korg DS10, VolcaKeys.
Other gear presently being used:- Tascam US1800 audio interface, Yamaha QX5, QX21, M Audio radium 49, Fender Precision lyte bass and Boss ME50B fx pedal. Yamaha TX1P, XRI xr300, Boss BX-4 mini mixer. |

I wanted to do something like that when I recorded this cover of "Popcorn". I wanted arpeggios following the song's chord structure. I ended up doing what you suggested - recording a sequence for each of the six chords used in the song - Am, Em, C, D F and G - and then "playing" them in real time using the memory buttons to change chords. But there is no way to do it just by changing the root note.

Perhaps a bit off topic.... when in Poly Ring mode while running a pattern it sounds like the key is changing when adjusting the sustain. With the keys it's all about tweaking the sweet spot. but, I find this useful for variation. |
