Ok I am a little confused but does the Songbook for the Pa3x work with the Pa4x ? I know we are awaiting the Songbook Editor for the Pa4x but since the release of the Pa4x we should really have it by now.
I am getting to the stage where I am wanting to use the Pa4x live and the Songbook will be a key feature for this task. _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4 |

The short answer is "yes" however there is a big "BUT..."

So you are right!! Where is the SONGBOOK editors?
Manual SONGBOOK entry reassignments of course will work and also BE a lot of work!!!

Thats not the answer I wanted to hear, Korg Advertise the Songbook and its Editor as Powerful features of the Pa4x. The songbook is way overdue and in my own view all software which is able to operate with a product should have been ready and available upon product release. This is going to cause me a major issue now and Korg need to get this sorted in short order, while they are at re writing the software they should port it for OSX.
I will be contacting Korg about this in the UK _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4 |

I agree, software should be ready when the product is released or at the very latest a short time after, especially as you say Korg rate it as a major tool. _________________ Genos PA4X-76 |

Well here is the upshot, called Korg UK today and spoke to their Pa4x specialist who told me he had no idea as to when the Songbook software for the Pa4x will be available. Evidently this comes from Korg in Italy but he said he would mail them to try and get an update. The Songbook feature is according to Korg publicity a important tool for live performers to organise the Pa4x for live use, I dont doubt that for a minute but at the price point the Pa4x comes in at it would be a reasonable view that upon product release relevent software to interface with the product to enable the user to use it as Korg specify would be bundled with it. Six months in we still have no software and no date as to when Korg will supply it to owners. I cant imagine that the software is that complex to justify this situation as its merely a organiser. With live work in view I could well do with this asap as probably can all users who intend to use the Pa4x for live performance.
Maybe if Korg stop by they can lay their cards on the table and let us know when we will be able to download it or explain to its customer base what the long hold up is _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4 |

This is definitely not a good answer, I wholeheartedly agree this sort of software should be bundled with the keyboard, it is approaching disgusting. I think people should start to not buy the keyboards when they are first released, then when they find they have loads of keyboards nobody wants unless the appropriate software is enclosed with the keyboards they might get the message to get their finger out and stop messing their customers about. _________________ Genos PA4X-76 |

I am probably wrong but did I not read somewhere on the forum that the current SONGBOOK editor will work?
(Might have been a senior moment )

Please let us know how you both go on but I would have thought the old "Songbook" editor wouldn't work due to the differences in how things are set up on the 4 with the "Set List" etc. Could be wrong, I usually am. _________________ Genos PA4X-76 |

I feel really sorry for you. I posted on this issue a long time ago.
Of course the new Songbook editor should have been available from the start (release PA4X).
But in fact, it's a shame that (the Songbook of) a new flagship PRO arranger is NOT compatible with the previous one.
There should be an automatic conversion (-tool) of the songbook, surely for all the songbook entries based on factory styles.
I'm just a hobby musician, playing for fun. But I can imagine that if you need to gig with your arranger, this is a major problem.
It took me months to correct my songbook after going from PA800 to PA3X... Korg hasn't learned on this I'm afraid.
Good luck & I hope Korg provides a solution for this issue very, very soon! _________________ Musical grtz, Frans

One of the main reasons im not getting pa4 yet is songbook/editor.
I make living with music, and my pa3 setup is based on songbook mostly, i don't even want to think about re-doing all from scratch on pa4. |

Here's an update to my enquiry with Korg UK, they have advised me the Songbook Editor for the Pa4x will be available within the next few weeks, as yet no date has been given but its now imminient.
I can wait for a another three or four weeks so the news from Korg on this score is good.
Unfortunately unlike other manufacturers the software will be Windows only and will not be ported to OSX. _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4 |

That's good news, thanks but I still say it's far too late, 4 months after launching the keyboard, what are the people who rely on the "Songbook" supposed to do in those 4 months ?. I just wish all keyboard manufactures would launch related, important software at least within a couple of weeks of the keyboard launch. _________________ Genos PA4X-76 |

I agree the software should have been shipped with the hardware and its a mistake which has agrieved a lot of buyers. Korg must have in house reasons why owners have had to wait all this time but IF the Songbook is going to be with us soon then once it is musicians are a forgiving bunch who will put the issue behind them and get on with it. If there turn out to be any further delays then I really do think Korg are not looking after their customers and also causing stall on buyers who wont buy until its released.
Lets keep our fingers crossed _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4 |
