Due to a case of new toy syndrome courtesy of my OP-1, i've not made a track using the black sampler for a few weeks now. So, in the face of the recent wave of hostility towards it, i bravely dusted it off and made this...

Thanks for listening...

This is great man! You always make me feel like I don't utilize motion recording as much as I should. Your stuff often sounds wonderfully tweaked. Also sonically this might be your most impressive electribe sampler track.

I'm not going to lie, I kinda wanna hear what you've been up to with that OP-1 Smile

I made these for fun over the weekend. Might keep going and make a beat tape. The electribe can do all kinds of genres but its workflow speaks very directly to electronic music and dance genres. I decided to treat the device more like hip hop guys use an MPC or SP. Start each session with only a few drums loaded in so I have lots of sample time and use the AUDIO IN to sample stuff directly instead of messing about with the .all editor. I like working that way too but this method is faster, more direct and . So I played stuff by hand as much as possible and used a lot of re-sampling. You eat your mistakes and keep moving on, making the best of what you have.

In some cases I forego the sequencer as the main tool and freely played parts over a long event recording so I could get the feel I wanted and then recorded that performance into my DAW. Ultimately the entire thing was performed on the e2s as a stereo mix and then I cut it up and arranged. A couple of sound effects sprinkles on top and then mastering and voila. Love my electribe even more now!

samples: Beyonce “Drunk in Love” and Hall and Oates “I can’t go for that"

Cathedral Sundown

samples: Adele “Rollin’ in the Deep”, Talk Talk “Ascension Day” and an orchestral performance of Eric Satie’s "3 Gynmnopedies (orch. Debussy): Gymnopedie No. 2"

Two very fine slices of hiphop, great treatment on the vocals. I especially enjoyed Cathedral Sundown. Definitely do more in this fashion!

Thanks for posting to this thread, come on people, don't be shy!!

Thank you! I'll be sure to post more. This is sort of my main mode of making music on samplers and I'm really excited to see how accommodating the E2S can be for it. I hope other intrepid beat makers on this forum will give it a try too.

Hi everyone !
Almost 4 Weeks with no internet access, so I have a few tracks to let you hear if you please.

The only track I made with external samples. A kind of little tribute to Bauhaus :
https://soundcloud.com/pi-cab-alter/usure

Made with e2 + e2s + LS-11 recorder. Only one pattern used on both machines.

I won't post often here as I use more and more the e2s for resampling beats when needed and as final mix/FX for e2.

Nice and dark but also chill vibe I really like that glitchy synth sound around 2:30 or so how did you make it?

Thanks for listening...

This one is also super cool that lead bit in the second half reminded me a bit of some of the doors stuff somehow, obviously way more electronic like.

I used the samples from my previous track "Bright Green Wasabi Pea" to create another.

Enjoy...

What is your sample set?
Good job, that is some bad ass sound design! All from one "crippled" box lol

Thanks for listening!! Yes, all Black Sampler, straight from the audio outs. I used a loop from my ER-1 (which barely made it in the end) and 18 other samples from Cabaret Voltaire/Human League tracks from the 70s/80s.

Continuing my beat making adventures on the E2S.

MF DOOM - My Favorite Ladies (Slow Vision RMX)
https://soundcloud.com/slow-vision-178047640/mf-doom-my-favorite-ladies-slow-vision-rmx/s-mvkO8

Backing track built entirely on the electribe sampler, each pattern played into Ableton and then arranged in the DAW. DOOM acapella came from youtube. Love the original and I'd always wanted to make my own version.

I sampled Mr Twin Sister - Blush (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk4P03R3Hts) to make the beat but drums came from my own private collection.

Keeping this going. Another DOOM remix: https://soundcloud.com/slow-vision-178047640/mfdoom-vomit-rmx-herbie-h-stars-in-your-eyes-beat/s-9fWaR

This time I chopped up Herbie Hancock's "Stars in your Eyes" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW9xcANImF4

All sampes chopped and played on electribe. then I put the vocal on top and made it shinier with ableton.
