Is there a way to edit the sample end for different parts using the same sample? in the same way the "edit" knob is able to adjust the sample start. Thanks for any help!

For a one shot, you can use the "release" knob (either with amp env on or off I think from the top of my head).
Load sample instance one on one part, sample instance two on another part... adjust away and off you go.

I'm not sure if you can the same thing with editing loop points. You might be able to, otherwise resample/ copy the sample and then edit the loop point in the new one.

I'm at work... so kind of guessing

It's kind of a weird way on how Sample end works.

The Manual Says:
Quote:
Amp/EG Decay/Release knob:
If a sample has been selected as the Oscillator, this knob can be
used to adjust the Gate Time—if the Amp EG is off.
If this knob is set to a value of 127, the sample plays to its end
regardless of the sample length.
TIP If the sample’s LOOP START POINT (Sample 5/10 page) is
specified, or if the OSC TYPE (oscillator type) is the
Analog or Audio In category, operation is the same as if
the electribe’s Amp EG is off.

So to be clear, only when the Decay knob set to "amp off" is what affects the sample.

What the manual does not explain is what the Decay/gate feature is doing. This feature acts as a sample loop length.

Imagine if you have created an opening and you can widen or reduce the size of this opening. Is this going to be a long loop or a very short loop. So set to the right you get the full sample. Set to the left you are giving your self a smaller portion of the sample. Alternatively once you have set length of your loop you then choose where that loop starts.

The ES1 had a the same feature for when you played audio through the effects and sequencer of the unit. That the time it used the pitch knob for this.

I hope this helps.

I cant find it on youtube but its definitely there .. somewhere.

A guy showed how to move to different points of a long vocal sample using Modulation.

I cant recall what the Mod he used was but he was able to 'move" around a long sample that i think was recorded from a cartoon.

Was it on a ES2? That would be pretty awesome to try

Sounds like Random Modulation (go to Modulation and select Random) set to OSC. ON the sampler if you Modulate the OSC, you are modulating where the start point is. Very unique feature and great for exploring new creative ideas for scrambling up a long sample.

You can also step sequence where these start points are.
