I need to rapidly switch between slow legato strings and a quick marcato string program...
Is it possible to configure a combi so
- sustain pedal does not sustain for either sample
- when sustain down I get legato string sample
- when sustain pedal up I get the marcato string program
And best way to do this? |

I wouldn't use the sustain pedal. There are other pedal inputs that are assignable, I would use a different pedal for this.
I would think having both programs in a combI and using the pedal to switch between them. OTTOMH an IFX on each program programmed to respond opposite to each other to the pedal to control the volume of each.

Thanks. I've only had Kronos for a day so totally new to this
I attached two extra pedals attached configured in global as
Foot Switch Assign : Soft (CC#67)
Foot Pedal Assign : Expression (CC#11)
I got a working solution, although it doesn't seem 100%. I couldn't work out to do as you described. This seems over complicated but working for now...
1) Initialized new Combi, Track 1 assigned slow legato strings program, track 2 assigned quick marcato string program
2) Assigned track 2 to 01G MIDI Channel
3) In MIDI Filter section I unticked "Enable Damper" on tracks 1 & 2 of the combi
4) In routing1 tab routed Track 1 to IFX1 and Track 2 to IFX2
5) To IFX1 added Stereo Compressor effect and set Gain Adjust to -inf and Source to Damper (CC#64) and Amount +40
6) To IFX2 added Stereo Compressor effect and set Gain Adjust to -inf and Source to Soft (CC#67) and Amount to +40
Now I can enable either program by pressing the appropriate pedal, or both at the same time.
It would be nice to be able to use the expression pedal to fade the balance but haven't worked out yet how to do that...Kronos is great, but super complicated |
