|
|
Whilst playing my KK switched off and now won't turn back on again. I've checked the fuse and the adaptor/cable is still in excellent condition so I don't have a clue what to do next to work out what caused this and if it can be fixed?!
Any help would be gratefully received as I love this board. |

Are you getting 12V DC from the output connector on the power supply cable? |

Hi voip. Apologies as this may sound dumb but I have no idea how to test if the adaptor is putting out power |

If you're not confident in doing this, then ask someone with some electrical/electronics experience to help. You will need a multimeter set to the 20V DC range, with the test leads correctly placed for measuring DC volts. With the power supply disconnected from the King Korg, plug the power supply into the mains with the mains switched on, then hold the black multimeter probe against the metal sleeve of the power connector end that fits in the King Korg, and press the red probe gently against the pin, or into the hole in the middle of the power connector. If the multimeter display reads 12 Volts or thereabouts, then the supply is probably working.

Additionally, if you have a switchable adapter with a fitting plug, you could set it to 12V and the right polarity and see if the KK at least powers up. I wouldn't recommend continuing to use one but it'd at least tell you if the original is broken so you can replace it. |

Thanks for your help guys, the multimeter gave a reading of bugger all so I guess a new ka310 power supply is all that's required! |

Glad to hear progress made. Hopefully the power supply was the problem.

Just a quick update for peeps - my KK is dead. New power supply got it back up and running but now it's completely perished. Has to go in to Korg for repair at my expense. This board has such a good sound but for £999 (when I got it) the build quality has been a big disappointment. |
