Hi,
i need your help, i need to sync my sq-1 on a beatstep pro ...
So far, nothing work ... I tried everything ...
Is it possible or am i dumb ?
My rig :
BeatStep Pro MIDI
-> MIDI Box
-> chan 1 Mother 32
-> chan 2 Volca BASS
-> chan 4 Volca BEATS
<need_sync_here>
SQ-1 MIDI OUT -> chan 3 Volca KEYS
Volca BASS sync out to SQ-1 Sync in ( stereo jack ) = not working.
BeatStep Pro Clock out to SQ-1 sync in ( stereo jack ) = not working.
BeatStep Pro Gate out to SQ-1 sync in ( stereo jack ) = not working.
Any ideas ?
Thx

Nope, I would think that syncing the SQ1 by one of the Volcas should be seamless and be the proof that the SQ1 is working fine. Which it is not in your case.
Do you use USB to power the SQ1 unit or batteries? Though it should not have any impact I would say...
Do you use a proper stereo jacks for the sync-in? You have these jacks with 4 or 2 contacts, these may not work properly. It's best to use these with 3 contacts (TRS).
What I see with my unit:
- nothing connected - switch it on and the speed knob blinks
- take a stereo jack cable, just insert it in sync-in, leave the other end of the cable open -> the speed knob already stops blinking, which means that the internal sync path is already cut. Is this the case at your side?
- put the other side of the cable in my monotribe sync-out -> the speed knob now follows the blinking tempo led of the monotribe.
Good luck. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK
