I've got my SV-1 connected to my Macbook Pro with the USB cable. I have no trouble getting it to serve as a midi device to trigger synth sounds in Logic Pro. However, my understanding is that I should be able to input direct/native sounds of the SV-1 into Logic by using the External Instrument plug-in. I've viewed some YouTube videos that describe the process, and I can setup a track as a Software Instrument using External Instrument dialog for SV-1 Sound. But I don't get any direct sound into Logic.

I've checked the Mac's Audio/Midi setup and I can see the SV-1 in the Midi devices window (with no I/O connections available) but I do not see the SV-1 as an available Audio I/O device. I've got a Yamaha MOX6 that shows-up both as a midi device and an audio device with the single USB connection.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something? I've got the latest SV-1 driver loaded and the SV-1 Editor software seems to work fine.

The majority of Korg's instruments do not do audio over USB. I've not checked but I think this includes the SV-1.

You need to connect the audio outputs of the SV-1 to a USB or Firewire audio interface, or to any other line in connection on your computer.
