It sounds like my old mini with some interesting new twists to sound and parameter access. And it is not cheap! _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494

Not to mention, This BEAST from the U.S. East, is a BLAST to play, as current now as it was then. _________________ Korg Kronos II - Instant Karma's Gonna Get You, Synth Wars - The Rise of the KARP 2600, OBX8 Kenobi - The Return of the Synth, KARP & Odyessey, Moog One - The Poly Menace, Vintage 2016 Model D, Voyager of Sinbad XL, Fooger Family of Six, Three Mothers Like No Others, Naboo Royal MiniTaur, MoogClaraVox, Criklon V2, in living color, Elektron RytmII Avenue, Neuman U67

To be honest, I have not fired mine up in four or five years. When I did, it sounded fine; but who knows what that down time with no playing has done to it.
Maybe I'll fire er up and see this weekend. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494

I anted one of these but my desire for more polyphony won and I bought a Gretsch. HAHAHA Seriously though what little I heard does sound good to me. Seems the price is a little lower then I thought it would be but to me it is still to high. |

Nitecrawler, if yours needs work, I might be able to help. I just ordered the parts to change the main power supply capacitors. I'm going to do it soon so will let you know. _________________ Korg Kronos, RD-88, Yamaha VL1, Deep Mind 6, Korg Kross, author of unrealBook for iPad. |

Aron,
The last time I played it, it sounded fine. I had some maintenance work done on it several years back and then just stopped using it. I had purchased a new Oasys at the time and never really needed to access any specific mini-moog sounds that I couldn't approximate with the Oasys.
I toyed with the thought of selling it, but no one that called really had the kind of money that it was worth. And I was not going to give it away.
Appreciate the offer though. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494

Just curious. What did one cost back in the 70's? I now I could hole it, but I'm wondering what you people paid. _________________ If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!

$1,495 in 1972 - equivalent now to $8,783
The ARP Odyssey was about the same price. _________________ Synth DIY Projects |

That sounds about right, I had both ( not at the same time).
$1495 was a ton of $$$ back in '72 for a young musician.
credit was also much tighter back then. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I can't find my original invoice, but I think around $900.00/used. They had a bunch in a music lab in a college they were getting rid of. The thing was practically brand new. I had to buy it "on time". Did not have that kind of money back then.
I do know that several years ago, people in Japan were willing to pay $7000.00 or more for one in good shape. Here in the US they were less than half that if you could find one that was being sold. It has the distinction of being the only keyboard in my studio that has increased in price from when I bought I; although I still have hopes the Oasys may reach back to its original price.
Curiously, my mini-moog mod D is darker in color than the ones in production now. Almost a mahogany color. Serial number 4581. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494

Yeah that 61,000.00 number is out of line. Whatever calculation premise he was using was not being realistic. Compound interest should not play in keyboard valuation discussions. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494
