Wondering is I use the USB hookup, can and how can I use a PC based sequencer to control my MS-20. I've got Cu-base, Cakewalk, and an old version of Fruity Loops. Is there a better PC based program? All help is deeply appreciated.

Danke,

Hi,

They will all do the job if you install the proper USB driver for the MS-20.
Are there better software packages? Maybe.

But note that the MIDI implementation of MS20 mini is limited. Meaning, it only sends (for recording) and receives (for play back) MIDI note data over the USB cable. Even velocity in the note events is ignored/not transmitted. No way to automate anything of the knobs or (obviously) the patch cables. But hey, that is the fun part of this beast. Real knobs, one per function, to tweak while the sequence is playing... So older DAWs will still do the job just fine.

Have fun.
