I'm very new to using this unit, so take it easy on me. I was wondering if it was possible to latch the Arpeggiator and then play an additional layer on top of it (as in a "lead line" if you will)? If possible, how would one go about doing this? I'm assuming it involves the timbre/voices if possible, but so far after I latch and switch to timbre 2, the next note just overrides the previous arpeggiation. Basically, can you have two layers from one MS2000R unit?

Hi,

Yes, it is possible. It is not going to be layers, but a split of the keyboard. E.g. you set the split point at C3 (One octave lower than middle C).
Keys below C3 will play timbre one of your program. Keys above and including C3 will play timbre two of your program.
Further you can choose which timbre the arpegiator will be active on, e.g. let's say the first one.

Then you can hit/hold a chord below C3 and the arpeggiator will start to play. Next to that you can play a melody above C3, without influencing the arpeggiator.

How to set up?
* Page01: COMMON:
- A: Mode -> choose split
- B: Timbre Voice -> choose the distribution of the 4 voice over the 2 timbres.
This depends a bit on whether you need chords in your melody or not. 2+2 is a fine start. Typically the arpeggiator has enough with one voice.
- C: Split Point -> choose a note to splt the keyboard for timbre 1 and 2.
* Page25: ARPEGGIO
- E: Target: choose here the timbre that will be played by the arpeggiator
* Configure both timbres with the sound you look after. This can also be twice the same.
* Possibly use Page04: PITCH, A: Transpose to offset each timbre, if the split point causes that the keys on the keyboard you play are not the octave you actually want.

Good luck.
