|
|
Hi there,
I have a microKorg that is giving me some issues. The synth powers up but only a few keys work and only 2 patches can be chosen between. no other functions on the synth work, no filters, can change between different modes, literally no functions work.
Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this issue? I am somewhat electronically minded and have taken apart and check diodes and capacitors, which all seem fine. im guessing one of the ICs has gone.
It was lent to a friend who used it with a 9v supply, but the wrong polarity, so perhaps this is the reason why she is no longer working.
Anyway, any advise would be really appreciated.
Cheers

Hi,
Have a look and search in the 'Korg MS2000 & microKorg' group of this forum. Or repost your Q there.
You can also google the service manual for the MK. It has schematics and may help you in debugging the issue.
And yep, some components might be fried, although I would think that there are protection diodes for reverse polarity.
Good luck. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK
