|
|
Hi to everyone
I have an EMX-1 and I use it as a midi sequencer to control my microkorg (tempo sync and notes from a synth part/midi channel).
Everything works but I would send a signal (Program change I think.. right?) on pattern change to select a new patch (sound) on the MK.
To be clear, I'd like that the microkorg change sound (preset) on the fly as I change the pattern on the EMX.
Is this possible or I'm dreaming? It depends on EMX or MK?
I'm not so skilled on Midi world so.. hope someone can help me to understand, thanks! |

Reading the manual I set the midi filter in the EMX to send and receive the program change (PCEN: ooxo) and the same in the MK (not the cc really, but I don't think is important..).
After this.. nothing is changed Changing the pattern nothing seems to change on MK side.
And then I tried to use the channel 1 to communicate (global channel for EMX).. in that case the note messages nether seems to be transmitted.
Any help, please? |

Wow, no response so far!
Check the MIDI channel(s?) you're working with. On the EMX, hit the "Global" button while playback is stopped and arrow down to the MIDI channel in the part you want to assign. This will need to be the same as the timbre on the MK you're looking to control or else it won't work. I'm not sure if it's possible to sequence both timbres but I believe you can. Your MIDI Filter setup seems sensible for this context, but I can never quite remember what falls under the umbrella of "Exclusive" messages.
Anytime you make these changes, make sure you hit the WRITE button twice to confirm it! Reply if you have any more comments or questions. |
