Looked everywhere and can't see a straight answer...
What are the specs for RAM upgrade for Kronos 2 - 61 key (2015)?

Is it DDR2 or DDR3? 240 pin?

Are the RAM specs that same as original Kronos?
I see lots of info and videos about installing RAM for the original, do those apply to the 2015 models?

Bill

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the Kronos 2 doesn't support a RAM upgrade. You can add a second SSD, or upgrade the existing SSD (which probably means using the old one as a second SSD), but that's different.

The Kronos 2 models take the DDR3 PC3 12800S 204pin that is what is installed on them i opened mine up to install a hard drive and that is what was in one of the slots a 4gb stick.

The oldest model, 5 yrs old, only came with 2 gig. You might be reading that. So many of us added another 2 gig or 1 gig RAM. The 32 bit OS has an addressable ram limit of just over 3 gig.

I thought your " 2" came with the 4 gig ram already. So I think you are set. I am not aware of any RAM improvement you can eke out.

Thanks all, appreciate your help.

I turned attention away from adding RAM and instead looked into adding a 2nd SSD. Had to open up the case obviously so I just wanted to capture info on the RAM that was installed in case it would be useful to others.

4 GB chip installed at factory.
SanMax Technologies 4GB PC3L-12800S-11-12-B3
240 pin.

System recognizes 3GB of that 4GB (per the Options Info tab under the Global menu)

There is a second slot available for another RAM chip but it's not needed as the system is only going to recognize 3 GB total anyway.

Thanks again!!
