Hi,

Just a question about the Korg n5 - is it possible to run an external sound through the synth and use all of the onboard real time parameter edits to synthesise the external sound?

I know it's possible on the MS-20 and MicroKorg, but I'm looking more into polyphonic synths with a larger octave range... Would it perhaps by possible on the DW 8000 or any others?

Thank you!

Neither the N5 nor its "cousin" the N1 have an external audio input.

Not sure what is meant by synthesising the external sound. Modifying the sound is possible on the MS-20.

An external CV keyboard could be used to allow the MS-20 to cover a greater frequency range. Up to 6 octaves is possible.

Some keyboards, allow quite a few things to be done with external audio. The Kronos allows the audio to be passed through the Kronos' effect chain. Audio can also be sampled and played back with numerous possibilities. The Triton series have audio ins, as does the M3, and Minilogue.

The R3 and Radias both have a vocoder and are also capable of processing external audio the same way as internal waveforms.

I'm sure others will come along and add to the list.
