it is the first time I am working with sequences.

But what I have just noticed that there is no kind of autoload for songs.
I have to re-load them manually after saving them to disk (save all).

Is this a bug or just a missing feature ? Did I miss anything ?

If you are using the sequencer, just save as SQN what do you mean AUTO LOAD?

Indeed. No autoload option for SNG files.

Not sure what Korg's rationale behind this is/was, but indeed in my opinion it would be a nice future option as well

For the moment: manual load only. But that goes pretty fast, as it does not load the full audio data in the sequences. Guess that it works like with sample streaming, and it loads only the first bits.

Yeah, autoload feature for songs wold be great feature. Simplest way is to load one SNG file, much more usable way is to select one SNG file as main, and all the others with "append" function (maybe implement priority list). Very useful function for musicians who use playbacks live.

You can save each song as a separate file, (and should) and you can save groups of songs as a single file. If you know what your songlist is ahead of time, you can load them all in order, and then save it as a single file. Then, just load that single file and the whole list is loaded.

I keep one file as current.SNG. I can load my set, save it to current.SNG and then at the gig, just load current.SNG.

This is good solution too. But autoload of one sng file would be great feature. We have to ask korg to make this feature available in new OS version.

I'd love song auto-load too! Can't imagine it would be hard to do?

Sorry if I'm being thick here but don't understand.

When I switch my Kronos 2 on, all my designated (file named GENESIS when I did SAVE ALL) programs / combis / samples / karma and SONGS all auto load.

I have 35 songs sequenced which all load on start up so no need to go looking for additional songs to load.

I don't have to do anything else.......!?

PS wish I could do this on my Oasys.....

Your songs autoload? Share this trick with us? Where do you set this up?
Programs and combis are always autoloaded, you couldn't prevent this is you wanted to. Sample autoload can be set up in the global/autoload menu. But songs?

I'll have a look later. To be honest (as I've mentioned on here before) my Kronos sounds are a copy of my Oasys stuff. I had to ask Korg UK how to do it. I followed their instructions step by step over the phone.......and everything (including songs) now autoloads.

That doesn't mean I know how to do it, but I'll have a look and see if there's anything obvious.

Cheers.

Sorry, my Kronos doesn't autoload.

I'm getting mixed up with my own set up. The sequences were all copied across to the Kronos from the Oasys but I actually use them on the Oasys only. I use the Kronos as a synth/sampler basically.

When I looked at the Kronos sequence page it hadn't autoloaded.

Apologies if I got your hopes up.

Hi,

So the Oasys does autoload songs?

Just curious!

Nope. The Oasys doesn't autoload programs or Combis either.

All loading on Oasys is manual.

I assumed because Kronos loads progs/combis that it had loaded songs too.

Senior moment (becoming increasingly regular theses days).

I don't know if autoload SONGS is an easy OS upgrade.

It does not seem to be a huge deal to load several songs all in 1 file on DISK.
Maybe 10 seconds. I am use to 2 minute boot up.

a 15 second manual SONG load is a nice to have but not a burning issue, IMO

All of my songs are saved in one file, about 70 in all. I use Set List to organize my live performances. I find it helpful to always have my songs in the same seq slots. If I decide in the middle of a gig to go to a song I hadn't planned to use, I can quickly go to Seq Mode and dial in the number of the Seq.
