Color or not, plenty of big studios have a pair either as mains or for reference. NS10s sound terrible too but were the de facto standard for years. |

It seems like KRK gets a lot of bad press, particularly that they color the sound a great deal. That may or may not be true, but I have a pair of Rokit 8s (Gen 2) plus a KRK 10s subwoofer. I used these with my Korg M3, and I just got a new Kronos yesterday and plan to use the KRKs with it, also. After a quick run with the Kronos last night, I am happy. We will see what happens as I use them more. |

I am using a sub with Fender passports and pretty satisfied but I may pick up a pair of Rokit 8 to feel the beats pass through my face.. lol |

Here is a comparison test of Yamaha HS5, JBL LS 305 and KRK RP5G3.
You will see the Yamaha HS 5 get the worse response curve of the three !!

I have a pair of Focal Alpha 65 for the Kronos and they sound great. Only when you are a "low bass lover" you should think about adding a subwoofer. _________________ If you don't change it - it will not change |

Well it turns out if you own Fender Passport studios they are not repairable. Fender just refunds you. So now I have a pair of KRK Rokit 6 with isolation pads. Picked them up for $343.. Pretty good mids and bass. Highs are a little less to be desired. Little amp hum. |

The speakers sounded great mid to low volumes. The input auxiliary front jack shorted out. Then started having amp cutting out issues. The 5" drivers also would distort if you 3/4+ pushed the mids or bass. Unlike the Krk rokit 6 just eat bass and mids for breakfast clear and clean.. Great Focal tweeters but Fender didn't do a good job on the rest. And they just refund you if you have a problem. No repair service. Terrible that isn't a good warranty. |
