|
|
We want to let our drummer have control of my drum tracks (drum track in a combi, set to a metronome) as I forget to start and stop as I don't hear it myself.
Is there a way to make that happen? I was thinking those behringer midi pedals type thing.... |

Okay, I think I am on to something here but wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the next step...
So I've wanted to allow my drummer to stop/start drum tracks on combi's/Programs as I tend to forget to stop them when songs end. So my earlier post was a question about how to accomplish this.
I think my solution is to assign the drum track (a Metronome Click, in this case) to an IFX and just make that IFX output wet/dry to a source in the IFX page.
The source options are many but not sure which ones will work easily/well with a midi pedal I can purchase. The MIDI Mouse by Tech 21 looks like a slick option but it appears to only send program changes. I think I need something that will send CC data right? (I could use CC 80 (sw1) in most cases).
This would, theoretically, allow the drummer to have a foot pedal he could use to "mute" the drum track during any periods where a song has ended but I haven't advanced to the next song in setlist mode yet. Since I run the band, I often am dealing with lighting issues, monitor mix questions, song requests, etc. between songs so I fear the poor drummer will hear a click for an extended period between songs. To allow him to "mute" the track would be invaluable.
Thoughts or experiences anyone? |
