|
|
I watch a video where the guy seemed to be playing the pads, holding them down for longer sequences, as he was in trigger mode i figured this had to be using sequence trigger mode. I just tried it. It seems this mode only works if the sound is not muted, which, in my view, is a bit bonkers. I don't want to trigger sounds already playing do I?
Anyone else tried this out or worked out the point in this mode, except for auditioning sequences with the unit not running? _________________ 01/WFD - M3 - MS-20 - Volca Bass - Volca Beats - Volca Keys - electribe emx2 - Monotron - KP3+ - iPad with too many Korg apps

It's something i want to play with, i've watched the video too. It might be good for more free-form jams, or starting your sequences at different times relative to eachother. But i guess it only makes sense if the unit isn't running, which means it's up to you to keep things in sync, or are the starts snapped to beat divisions? _________________ If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

I saw that video yesterday too!, had a bit of a play when I got home and found it none too easy, first off finger nails need to be short as I could feel them digging into the pads!
And No, there's no snap to grid going on, the moment you press the pad the sequence starts playing, I can see that it's an interesting alternative way to play but SO far removed from the way I've got used to playing its almost like a different machine....
Also my fingers don't stretch that far! _________________ Loving My First Electribe!!!

It's not gonna happen with my fat sausage shovels for hands. So no snap to beats then eh? Freeform it is then... _________________ If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

I had fun with it. Basically it is manual variation on what some of us are used to when we use the part mute feature. Playing like that in the video, IMO is not practical in a live show when you have part mute. However used for specific parts you don't plan to have continuous play on, makes sense. _________________ Korg PX5d

This Way of Working Looks Suitable for me.
I Use Multis in a Blofeld Keyboard with a MINIAK and a Venom. Part 1 in Blofeld Launches Sequence A in MINIAK, Part 2 in Blofeld Launches Pattern 2 in M-Audio Venom, Part 3 a Rhythm in MINIAK, and So On.
Using the KORG Electribe 2 in Seq Trig Mode might be a More Practical and Light way for Playing Gigs.
But I Have a few Questions that would Definitely help me decide in Buying One!
Does it Have Latch in Seq Trig Mode?
And can we Assign Notes to the Pads, like Pad 1 is a D1 and Pad 2 is Also a D1?
Korg Used to Have a Technology Called RPPR, which allowed the user to Assign different Patterns to Keys, but Never Used a Korg Synth.
In the MINIAK or in the Venom, We can Assign different Patterns to a Single Key in Multitimbral Mode, and that's amazing Live.
