|
|
Hi,
I got a second hand Korg Radias by mail. Cable was missing and got it only afterwards. Didn't have time to check everything and at least not the pitch and mod wheels...
So, the Radias keyboard is working fine but not the pitch and mod wheels.
I had the chance to check with another rack unit and it is the same. So I guess it is either something broken in the keyboard unit or it is the cable.
Can some of you help me with this?
For example: is there somewhere a pin layout so I can test if I have the right cable? I could test if pin1 goes to pin1 etc... using an ohmmeter. Maybe that the Korg cable has some twisted connections...
Any other tip?
Thx in advance! |

Hi!
Here you are the pin layout of the 9 pin miniDIN:

I'm afraid it's will not help to you. There is not dedicated "wheel" points...
May you have to serviced the keyboard I think. If you lucky there is just an contact error ... _________________ Now: KORG RADIAS-R, EDIROL PCR-800, ROLAND FA-06, Behringer DSP2024, KORG microstation, Waldorf Blofeld

Thx LiPI!Was almost sure not to get any answer....
Yep, not clear how ther wheels info are transmitted.
I'll open the keyboard and will check.
Anyone on the forum having ideas on how the mod and pitch wheel infos are transmitted by the Din cable?
OR does anoyne have an idea why those wheels are not working? I don't think there is a switch or option on the Radias to switch that off...
Strange because I'm getting this with my both Radias.
Hence I thought it was the cable... Maybe not... |

I bet it's not the cables problem. If the cable is incorrect then not just the wheels missfunctioned; it's occur many other problems too with keys... The keyboards electronics "itself" scan and handles the keyboard keys and pots, then send a processed serial data to RADIAS-R across the cable. There is no dedicated line in cable to the wheels.
I think the keybed was serviced, and maybe forgotten to reconnect the wheels pots connector to the mainboard. It would be worth watching inside before sending back or to a service. _________________ Now: KORG RADIAS-R, EDIROL PCR-800, ROLAND FA-06, Behringer DSP2024, KORG microstation, Waldorf Blofeld

OK. Didn't see your reply before sending my pm...
Yep I was planning to open the keyboard next w-e to check things.
Hope it is as easy as that...
It must be some period...I had to open my DSI Pro2 last w-e because a black key was not functioning...some dirt in the sensor under he key that was there since it left the factory (strange I never used that black key...).
I keep you posted. Thx man! |
