Update - problem solved ))) feel free to email me on vladimirx0707@gmail.com

Hello everyone Smile

I strongly need some help. I have just bought a keytar Korg RK 100 S . I havealready had a synthesizer Casio CTK7000 and thought that Korg would help me with playing guitar-sound like.

But as I unpacked the box and examined 196 musical samples I opened a terrible truth that there is no quitar sounds, not only distortion guitar but even simple one...

I have tried the official website but found no samples for keytars and a lot of samples for synthesizers...

I have downloaded Korg Sound Editor and plugged my Keytar to pc. This software can change the samples but I do not know which one will be proper for making guitar-like sounds...

Is there something I can do ? For example my Casio synthesizer has more then 30 quitar sounds so I was very upset that Korg has none...

I only hope for some advice because if nothing can be done I will return the Korg to the shop tomorrow...

Yours sincerely,
Vladimir

Ps sorry for errors, english is not native for me

The MIDI out from the keytar could be used to control the CTK7000.

Hello again Very Happy
I solved the problem with the Korg... I have just bought a cheap
guitar amplifier Ibanez and it gave me a distorsion Smile
Newertheless I still have not found quitar samples but now the sound is much more similar to electro guitar Wink

Will it be ok asking questions in this topic or should I start a new one?

My next question is simpler than the first was Surprised
Can you recommend where to find sheets ? Mostly interested in glam metal and rock.

What could be the best way to go? Find some quitar solos or try to play the vocal line? Which software can I use for creating proper supporting instruments like drums ? Just to make the song similar to original? I have guitar pro5, it really rules with sheets but is terrible while playing.

Thank you very much

To use software synths driven by MIDI messages from the RK100S, download and install the USB MIDI drivers for it then plug the RK100S into the PC via a USB cable. Many software synths come as VST plugins that require a host such as Ableton Live to run them. The host will need to be configured to recognise the RK100S as a MIDI device, and this is usually fairly straightforward. The choice of VST synths is large. Omnisphere, for example, for evoking some impressive sounds, although distorted rock guitar sounds are probably not one of its strengths. There are some freebies such as depicted in this video that you might like:

The video is from 2011, so the links don't work and not necessarily free anymore :-(

Hi Vladimir,

i am too, trying to create a guitar shredd sound with the sound editor for the rk-100s but, it's not so easy for me. i am a synth beginner.

i imported file from microkorg xl to look for patches i could try to change, but no luck. ( http://korgpatches.com/patches/microkorg_xl/ )

i have also an fender passport mini and with patch 61 and 67 i play along and have fun with my new keytar. Very Happy

if you are successful with a patch, we could exchange our *.rk100s_all

good luck,
hagen

By the way the best solo and distorted sound I have is being created with guitar rig 5+ asio driver. I only have a trouble with finding where to buy a rig control here. Sad
