Hi,
I know the serial number is on the back of the Kronos. But I just wanted to ask if anyone know if I can find the serial number of the Kronos 2 via the screen display? Thanks.

Nope, but you can find the Public ID in Global mode.

no serial # displayed during boot-up

did not see any serial # in global

Public ID and serial # are not the same, or have a different purpose

Thanks for checking.

Now re: Public ID, has anyone confirmed where this is tied to? e.g. SSD? Motherboard? Just need to know in what instances this can change. Thanks again.

It's tied to the crypto module on one of the support boards that also contains the ASIC from memory.

Are you sure about that?

When you change the motherboard (and not the supporting boards) the public ID changes as well. Incidentally, it happens to be a hex value, identical to a hardware ID of an ethernet card. Suspicious no?

Okay, I just checked and my Public ID does NOT match the MAC Address of my Kronos. That said, I'm still suspicious that it's tied to an external board since changing the motherboard changes the Public ID.

Hmm, that's interesting. I know there is a hardware module that does contain some keys in a secure enclave ...

Anyway, this page has some more information:
