Not sure how much interest there will be for Kronos owners or other Korg keyboard owners but...
Pricey of course.
Yikes, 77GB!
Technical Specifications
• Huge 77 GB library with over 500 sounds, 36 Instrument Models and Hybrid “Duo” Patches
• Deeply Multisampled sounds with up to 32-way velocity switching, Round Robins, etc
• Mechanical Noise, Pedal Noise and Release Noise behavior modeling
• Patches feature authentic circuit modeled amps and effects
• Optional “Lite” installation (30 GB) for stage use
• Omnisphere® 2 integration |
This would be my 1st Soectronics product, I like it a lot.
But I would need to get a Macbook Pro to run this ( FWIR) .
My thinking is if Korg does not intro a new great W/s by yr end, I will go for the VI platform. |
MAcbook/mainstage/VI is a great addition to any workstation.. But for live players still nothing beats the workflow and UI of a hardware workstation... |

No denying this package sounds amazing under the fingers of all of those geniuses playing in the demo videos (and I'm a huge fan of Cory Henry) - but I'm honestly not 100% convinced by the package; compared to the competition .
Spectrasonics are amazing products - but they are amazing at 'pitching' them too. And again I don't want to be critical for critical sake - the things that are jumping out at me, include:
- The same amount of 'drooling' over keyboard authenticity has been evident in a myriad of other promotion videos, including SV1 and Kronos
- Not convinced that the Yamaha acoustic piano (using a hand iron to restore it) can deliver the capabilities of a top dedicated grand piano library
- The Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer pianos do sound amazing - but again - across specific kinds of patches - not as over all Virtual Instruments - and frankly there are a myriad of similar products
- The myriad of toy pianos and very early prototypes are great sounding, but surely to be doodled with once and never to be used again.
Don't want to be too critical - it's just - they are making this out to be extra special beyond other packages, and I don't accept that. $399 is not going to break the bank and is quite reasonable given the superlative quality - but I think if those players sat at a Kronos, or even a Controller and NI or MOTU Electric Keys among others; they could equally convince everyone it's every bit as good, in all departments, as Keyscape |

Why do you think the Yamaha acoustic can't deliver the quality required of a top library? The C7 is pretty much my favorite piano and also my favorite model in Ivory. |

Sure, many of us are enthusiastic. Its sort of contagious when the Pros gush over Keyscape.
Like I mentioned, there will /are plenty of YT's showing up. From folks somewhat closer to our level:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3WRZKwMnsI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H1Wm21v1Xo
this guy does a compare to the Alicia Keys C3.
His comments on the C7 are helpful.
Its ok if you change your mind, Kevin _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I don't gig. I enjoy recording like many home studio folks.
I am looking forward to this combination. Great times to be a keyboard musician. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8
