Hi:
Does someone conect Nanopad2 to PA3X Le ?
I've seen that in PA4X, that conection is possible, and looking on MIDI setting (PA3x le) it have the same option as PA4X (MIDI Setup Tablet, MIDI IN Channel 16).-
With regards.

Hallo Eduardo,
I have the same question, but get no satisfactory answer with the manuals.
In my opinion Nanopad2 need USB-Host-applications (PC, Laptop ..), but Keyboards Pa900, Pa3XLe only will act as USB-Slave and I think "Midi Setup Tablet" does not mean you could connect Midi-Devices without USB-Host-function.
Maybe Pa4x last update has been equipped it with USB-host-functionality, so Nanopad will work if connected, but without additional USB-Host-Device as necessary for previous Pa-arrangers.
PS: I would be happy, if Midi-Setup-Tablet of Pa900 would provide USB-Host-functionality to work together with direct connection of a Nanopad. _________________ kind regards

Hi Siebenhister:
Thanks for your answer.-
As you i will be please if that conection is possible.-
I've download from Korg website about conecting different PA Keyb with mobile sheets under Android.-
As i can't attach a pdf file with this post, i transcribe part of it's text:
Configuring the Pa-Series instrument for
communication
In your Pa-Series instrument, you have to set the Global MIDI channel to the
same channel chosen in MobileSheets Pro (that is, channel #16). The procedures
are different depending on your instrument.
Pa4X, Pa3XLe, Pa900, Pa600, Pa300, HAVIAN 30
1 Press the GLOBAL button to access the Global pages.
2 If the menu is not shown, press the MENU button to see it.
3 Touch the MIDI option in the Global menu.
Later ....
Touch the General Controls tab to go to the General Controls page, and choose
the Tablet MIDI Preset.
These instructions are the same as shown on PA4x manual.-
I have a NANOPAD but that i use on my Kronos to trigger chords, but i don't want to conect it to PA3xle and have a conflict in hardware.-
Again thanks for your quick answer.
With regards.

Hi Siebenhiter:
Upgrading my last post, that manual indicates:
KORG Pa-Series requirements
The following table shows the requirements to use MobileSheets Pro with a
KORG Pa-Series instrument including the SongBook feature. Some models will
allow both synchronization from the tablet or the Pas SongBook; others will only
allow synchronization from the tablet.
Pa-Series Model Min. 0S Version Tablet→Pa Pa→Tablet
Pa4X 1.0
Pa3X 1.63
Pa3XLe 1.0
Pa900 1.1
Pa600 1.2
Pa300 1.6
HAVIAN 30 1.0
Pa2X 1.0
Pa800 1.0
Pa500 1.0
Pa588 1.0
Pa1X 1.0
Note: You can find the latest OS at our web site (www.korg.com).
Connecting the tablet to a KORG Pa-Series instrument
The USB DEVICE port of your Pa-Series instrument can be used to connect a
tablet. For connection, you need a suitable USB cable, whose plug on the instrument
side is a male USB Type-B plug, while on the tablet side the plug depends
on your tablet.
With most tablets, a male USB Micro-B to male USB Type-A cable is usually supplied.
To connect to a Pa-Series instrument you need an adapter including a
female USB Type-A receptacle and a male USB Type-B plug. This type of adapter
can easily be found at any electronic store.
As your technical knowledge is higher than mine, perhaps these give's you a better idea if that conection is possible.-
Again with regards.

When you connect two devices with USB-topology, it is most important at least one device is fitted with host capability.
Unlike other data buses USB connections are directed, with both upstream and downstream ports emanating from a single host.
*
Using MobileSheet your Android acts as USB-Host.
Using Nanopad with Kronos, your Kronos acts as USB-Host (with its built-in USB/MIDI Host-Ports for MIDI Control Surfaces).
Using Pa-Songbook your Tablet acts as USB-Host.
*
Using Nanopad connected directly with Pa900/3XLe via USB none of both acts as USB-Host, so you can not use Nanopad as Midi-Controller for Pa-Arrangers, regardless of the adapters used - except for USB host capabilities (like Kronos) would now been implemented with system updates in Pa models (maybe Pa4x ?) _________________ kind regards
