Hi, my name is Psalm37. I’ve recently been working with Dave Smith Instruments for the factory sounds on their Prophet 12 and Pro 2.
I've finally got around to completing patches for the MicroKorg XL today.

I’m aware that there are lots of free patches available out there, very good ones too!
However I put in a lot of time and effort to get the best out of any synth I’m working with and hope you will be interested in the audio demo available here:

You can pick up these patches here:

All the best,
Psalm37

Those are nice sounds!

I have a microKorg XL+ --

. . . are they compatible?

Thanks --

Oops - I put this post in the wrong thread -- it belongs here . . . .

After a day with Psalm37's patches loaded onto my MicroKorg XL+ (yes, they work fine!):

The bass patches (both mono and polyphonic), alone, are worth the price of admission.

The pads are rich, complex -- very nice.

I'm still wringing-out the rest.

My guess is that my MK will become a hybrid -- mostly Psalm 37 patches, with some of the original Korg patches brought back in.

. Charles

PS -- I use the MK to accompany a religious chant group, which limits (severely) what sounds I find useful. And I'm new to synths, so take this comment FWIW.

I've modified the "Rhubarb" patch (a plucked-string sound) so that the volume, and filter cutoff, are both velocity-sensitive, and the "delay" mix is 0%:

. . . It's not a bad koto substitute, like that.

This is going to be fun! Thank you.

It's a good point you make here because many of the synths I work on have a dedicated velocity control for volume and I need to remember to integrate it into those synthesizers that don't have it set as default.
