i just got a white gel pen from hobbycraft(uk) that has 0.8mm wide tip and and works easily with no danger of paint blobs.

it says on label on pen:"paper poetry, gel stift pastel, gel pen pastel,stylo gel pastel".

Some Second Thoughts...

I've been thinking about the original post: why does Korg not make the marker strips more visible? When I first got my Minilogue, I felt the same way as the OP, and while I like the markers I've painted onto the knobs, I'm not sure any more that it's very important.

Unless you use the shortcut to load the knob positions into memory, the knob position does not represent the actual setting at all. If you work from presets and modify them, this is always the case! This is why I wanted the Minilogue Edit program, so I can actually learn from the patch settings.

To each their own, but I can understand why Korg made that decision.

It is a pain in the ass to turn a knob slow enough to see where it catches on the factory presets. I would love if Korg had a parameters list for all its sounds.

for creating sounds it makes a big difference to clearly see where controls are. has made it much more useable and enjoyable for me. the more i use it the more i love the sounds i can get from this little synth!

I had to use a paintpen to mark the centerpoints of the sliders on my Bitstream 3x as the graduated markings it came with were nowhere near accurate. Their marking for center was more like 3/4. My mate didn't even realise that they were put on by me when he remarked "they could have used a different colour to purple". Hey! I like purple!! LOL!!!

Waldorf used to use these really fancy soft-touch knobs on their synths circa '99 that are infamous for falling apart. Mine did eventually and I replaced them with the gaudiest coloured knobs I could find at the electronics supply store. Green and white knobs on an orange synth, it's a thing of joy to the eye.

I also replaced the knobs on my Nandamonium as soon as it arrived using duckhead dials and numbered knobs. Duckheads are great for spotting where dial is set at a glance and feel nice too.
