|

Hi folks,
I have a Kronos 1 (61 keys version) freezing seconds after power up showing the messages "SYSTEM STARTUP FAILURE" "Please disconnect any USB devices and restart" A youtube video exposing the issue is here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beWD939jqqo
The strange is that there is nothing attached on USB ports. What can be done in such cases to restore the system? A new OS install using the factory DVD? Or the internal SSD drive is bad and should be replaced? The SSD is a TOSHIBA 30gb. Thanks in advance. _________________ Please check my Facebook page and blog at

Sorry to hear that , it's probably an SSD data corruption in most cases , but try first the following since you're out of guarantee :
- Dissasemble your Kronos , re-seat Ram boards and check all connections !
- Swap SSD SATA2 cable in motherboard from portA to portB(secondary) and restart.
- If both cases fail then connect Kronos with a UPS and try with restoring DVDs first in normal installation and if fails in SSD format mode !
- If still installation fails then SSD is malfunctioning and should be replaced .
In that case use a newer SSD SATA3 like compatible Samsung EVO 120GB , re-install DVDs in format mode and finally authorize Kronos
via Korg registration website !
Good luck
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Here in Argentina we have only 6 months of Korg warranty. The high rate of failures is the reason about the reduced warranty in top brands. Is not mine the Kronos and I'm trying to restore the OS. The owner told me that the Kronos is only 18 months old and started to fail. Thanks very much for the answer. _________________ Please check my Facebook page and blog at
