|
|
Hello everyone! I just did the cover of the main theme from the Netflix show Stranger Things on my Kronos X.
I had fun trying to recreate the 80's feel both aurally and visually. One more thing the Kronos nails is the 80's style synths (MS-20, Polysix, AL-1, MOD-7).
Hope you enjoy my version of this cool little thing!

Anyone else enjoyed this mini show? Looking forward to season 2! |

Cool stuff, man! I'm new to the Korg/Kronos ecosystem. How are your last keystrokes stopping the arpeggio and the drumbeat? Are they sequenced or KARMA? |

Really nice cover! Good work on setting things up!

I used the RPPR function in the sequencer. It allows you to record parts and assign them to any key. The lowest C turns everything off, higher keys work as triggers or on/off switches. Karma was used for midi channel switching only, it wasn't used as an arpeggiator.
Thank you for your kind words guys!
I used to hate 80's synth sounds but as time goes by I'm beginning to enjoy them quite a bit and I haven't even dug into the MOD - 7 engine yet. It looks like a scary and mysterious beast to me for now. |

I got started on a DX100 back in '88. 😁 Frequency modulation is indeed quite different. |
