......has anyone developed any of these easy laid back styles used by Don Williams...very simple...
I've messed with some of my PA900 styles to try and get something similar...
Just wondered if anyone else has anything they'd like to share.. _________________ Korg PA900 - Yamaha Tyros 4

Hi
Pleasantly surprised to see your post, I have most of Don Williams old LPs. Amongst my top favourites. Its the great backing and style that does it for me. My kind of music.
I have a PAx4 and there must be something in STYLES and SONGBOOK for ideas. I will play around with it.
I have seen other posts saying what a great idea it would be to expand on this and construct a "LIBRARY" of STYLES for different songs for us all to share.
But sadly the posts die a death. One would think it would be a great topic to keep going. How interesting it would be and a great learning curve for us all. Is that not why we join, to learn from each other ? |

....Thanks for your reply.... Glad you're also a 'Don Fan'....
I agree with you - those easy to listen to beats and rhythms are so simple but there's nothing 'quite' like it on my Korg or my Tyros.....
I'm just looking at the new PA1000.....seems a step up but not really doing anything that I need that my PA900 doesn't do for me....
If you develop anything then please let me know...I see you're a 4x man...? _________________ Korg PA900 - Yamaha Tyros 4

You have planted a seed. I have a large sheet music collection but amazingly not Don Williams. And so I am going to purchase some of his music books in the next few days.
I can work out and play the best backing for each of his songs.
At the end of the day I will still be playing Don Williams as per music. I look forward to seeing the sheet music ref keys and all.
Glad I saw you post today |
