Hello,
Does anyone know how to create a reverse piano sound on the Kross like the one heard during the intro of "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen?
Thanks!

Hi,
IMHO it is not possible.
It could only be possible when Korg finally releases some tools to upload our own samples.
(Which is possible but undocumented.)

Of course you can, start with a piano patch and mess around with the envelope settings- try long attack and short release... |

Yes, that is an option, but it will not sound like a reverse piano patch as used in the song of Queen...
You will miss the attack part of the original sample at the end. With an original sample you will try let the sound swell towards the end by tweaking the envelope, but that sample is already going down from itself...
I did a quick try with the envelope for myself before sending my first response few weeks ago. At least for me, it did not sound convincing enough as work around for an originally reversed sample... _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK

The Kross Program parameter editing page P3 has a "Reverse" option to play certain multisamples in reverse. It will be greyed out if that particular multisample doesn't allow it. Some piano multisamples may allow reverse. The start Offset should give some control over when the reverse sample reaches the start point of the original multisample.
Alternatively, the Auto Reverse effect could be put to use for this kind of thing. When using this effect, set the "Direct Mix" parameter to "Always Off", and choose "Wet" for the "Wet/Dry" parameter. The "Reverse Time" parameter will give control of when the crescendo arrives after a key is played.
All of this requires quite a deep forage into the Kross' menus. Do let us know how you get on.

Yep, I've been thinking about the reversing as well.
Unfortunately, the accoustic piano samples can not be reversed. It seems that only analog synth like waveforms can reversed. On top of that the looping does not work on reversed samples (which also not unexpected). The synth like samples give then ticks and tocks, nothing more...
The Auto Reverse effect. Mmh, did not think about that one... worth to investigate it once...
