Hello everyone! I just did the cover of the main theme from the Netflix show Stranger Things on my Kronos X.
I had fun trying to recreate the 80's feel both aurally and visually. One more thing the Kronos nails is the 80's style synths (MS-20, Polysix, AL-1, MOD-7).
Hope you enjoy my version of this cool little thing!

Anyone else enjoyed this mini show? Looking forward to season 2! Very Happy

Cool stuff, man! I'm new to the Korg/Kronos ecosystem. How are your last keystrokes stopping the arpeggio and the drumbeat? Are they sequenced or KARMA?

Really nice cover! Good work on setting things up!

I also like the show and enjoyed the wonderful retro music in it Smile

I used the RPPR function in the sequencer. It allows you to record parts and assign them to any key. The lowest C turns everything off, higher keys work as triggers or on/off switches. Karma was used for midi channel switching only, it wasn't used as an arpeggiator.

Thank you for your kind words guys!

I used to hate 80's synth sounds but as time goes by I'm beginning to enjoy them quite a bit and I haven't even dug into the MOD - 7 engine yet. It looks like a scary and mysterious beast to me for now.

I got started on a DX100 back in '88. 😁 Frequency modulation is indeed quite different.
