I am starting to get a hang of this little groove box by now but new questions just keep popping up. I have a Roland JD XI which has some awesome drum and lead sound that I like. I'd like to use my Electribe to control the JD XI and use JD XI as my sound source along with the internal patches of Electribe. is this possible? how do I sync the tempo? I don't know where to start. I have been using DAW with soft systh all my life and now wanted to switch to hardware and I know not how exactly. thanks people. |

You need to cable them together (MIDI Out on the Tribe, MIDI In on the Roland).
They should sync automatically, but if not you might need to look at the MIDI settings for each device so that the Tribe is the MIDI clock (ie. it sets the tempo).
Then you can send note data from one of the pads on the Electribe and it will play on the Roland. To do this, set the MIDI Channel on both devices the same as the number of the pad containing the part you want to route to the other synth.
I'm using the ESX2 as my engine and a Korg Monologue for leads. Works like a charm. |
