I love the look of the wooden sides on my Kronos, but the finish of the wood is pretty dull. Has anyone tried to use any sort of wood care products on them to liven them up a bit like Pledge or Lemon Oil Polish? (Yeah, my Kronos is so vain.) |

I'm not going to use any 'Pledge' type products on the wood. I'm not saying that Pledge is a bad product, but I think over time the wood will collect a waxy film. Maybe something that has a light oil base might work. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s.

Actually,
mine has a real silky sheen just the way it is. It looks to me like it has some oiling already applied, (to stop it from drying and cracking over time).
My guess is that once you start waxing it, you'll have to continually wax it to keep the look you want. I think as Falcon suggested, a light oil of some sort would be the safest. _________________ The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Kawai MP11SE, Yamaha Montage8, Korg D1

Old English red oil/furniture polish has an oil base and doesn't dry out the wood. I used this to protect the wood on my Hammond and leslie back in the day. _________________ K2 Kronos 88, Mojo 61, Korg CX3, Roland FANTOM 7 |

i used various oils on my un-finished guitar/bass necks bodies ...
tung oil type stuff ... lightly wipe on , remove any excess ... repeat every couple days to let it harden/setup ... buff lightly to a satin finish ( not glossy )
sometimes i've also used a micro crystalline wax on top of that ... still not glossy ... just to help protect the wood _________________ Korg Kronos 88 , Yam MODX , Dexibell S7 Pro , Emu Proteus 2000 , various fx pedals/racks ... |

I've used Teak Oil on the sides of my Kronos - I had a few light scratches on mine and the oil has helped tone them down. _________________ Synth DIY Projects |
