Does anyone have an easy solution for playing a style in rubato (slowing down and speeding up)? The only thing I know to do is to is to spin the wheel (faster or slower). Is there anything easier? Probably not, but I thought I'd ask. It's frustrating to always have to play a song style at the same tempo without variation. It doesn't sound authentic --- especially on ballads when slowing or speeding is necessary to make it more interesting.

I guess the wheel would be the easiest solution, as it really only changes the tempo, smoothly, to whatever value you want.
The other option might a a new songbook entry with a different tempo setup.
I would use the wheel. _________________ "Many people take the bad management for destiny!" - Kin Hubbard |
