I have a Kronos 73 since the summer it appeared, and still love this amazing workstation.

But while it is still the absolute no. 1 workstation for live use, far ahead of anything the competition offers, it meanwhile is a lame duck in the studio, compared to almost every other hardware I use.

The reason is simple: we are still sitting on this crappy, outsourced 32bit editor, which came much too late after the Kronos in the first place, but still was a huge disappointment from day one, not offering much remarkable functionality beyond a mirrored Kronos interface.

Meanwhile we are late in 2017. 64bit has become standard for everyting in the computer world, from OS to audio plugins. My Cubase 9pro simply blacklists 32bit plugins, and I'm glad it does, because plugins not updated to 64bit by now can hardly be regarded as natural part of today's recording environment any longer. And it seems there doesn't even exist a Cubase midi instrument patch script for use of the Kronos as external instrument in Combi mode, after all these years.

All my other hardware can OF COURSE be used via latency compensating plugins in my DAW, like
- Moog LP
- Moog Voyager
- Prophet 6
And of course for other modern synths that is STANDARD nowadays and nothing special anymore.

The only synth, with which I have to use rotten workarounds, is the Korg Kronos, an advanced, well developed workstation. What an irony!
I have swallowed that nonsense for much too long.
Korg, this plugin is HEAVILIY overdue!!!!!
I have no problem paying for it. But the Korg management can't be serious to leave the Kronos without VST functionality in 2018 any longer! I'm really very annoyed about that missing perspective meanwhile.

I personally don't use the Kronos in this mode (nor the Montage), but it has to be a no brainier that support should be 64 bit.

Zźźzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....keep sleeping Korg.

The world is dealing with bitcoin but you insist on a Gold Kronos, and to add fuel to the fire you tell us you have some new tech synth coming to NAMM 2018 and that the name of this instrument has a number in it......That Number Wouldn't be 32 would it?

Hahahahahaha....32, give me more of the number 32.

I hate that number along with the number 4....4gb of ram that is.

2017/2018 and still 32bit and stupid 4gb ram....while a stupid little watch on my wrist has 64bits and 16gb ram

There is a decent list of improvements that Korg 'could ' address if they choose to.

IMO, they should have planned a Kronos replacement, to capture all the improvements, some time ago and have it ready by Jan 1.

But thats me. I am not the president of Korg.

This is how they get you to buy the latest & greatest. Now with 64-bit support!

Personally, I think there will be a 64 bit driver for our Kronos. Until then, use MIDI.
