Hey Guys,
I'm trying to find if there is a good way to bring in the effects for a program when I build it into a combi, say as IFX instances. I do this manually now but am wondering if someone has worked out a better way.

Sorry if this is an old question but I do appreciate the help.

Yes. It's called copy from program. Instead of finding the timbre for a channel with the search boxes above the channel sliders, go the the menu top/right (drop down menu there) and select copy from program. You'll be able to pick you program and then you have the option of copying in IFX/MFS/allFX/Karma settings/drum track.

As well as copy to program, you can use the quick layer or quick split function to add a program with its ifx to a combi, if there are enough ifx slots free.

Thanks for the help. I'm embarrassed to say how much time this will save me.

Don't be embarrassed. I had to ask a lot of silly questions too when I just got my Kronos - it's a DEEP beast. Fortunately there are plenty of helpful folks on this forum.

This was helpful, but if I did it for more than one channel, sounds on other channels change as if I’ve over whirred them in some way. I’m clearly doing something wrong.

What I’m trying to do is use a sound in three different channels and two different zones on the keyboard. I’m programming “head over heels” by tears for fears. In one zone I have the head over heels piano patch A21 in the lower register. Then, for the intro, I want to use the sound again in two more channels so I can have them play an octave apart while playing just one note. With the sound in 3 channels, the last two change when I load the third. Theo sound hollow and the bright high end is gone.

I’m clearly missing something and could sure use a steer.

Thanks!

Not at my Kronos right now, but when you do copy from program, you have the option of either overwrite the FX that are already in the Combi, of to add the new ones (the copy will automatically route things correctly to the new FX slots - when you add to existing FX your new program FX might end up in different FX slots). From what you are describing it sounds like you overwrite existing FX in the Combi when you copy in a new program...

Finally remember you are limited to 16 FX slots so you cannot indefinitely copy in programs that come with their of FX - pay attention to that too!
