Hi there I am very new to this forum and the M3 so please bear with me

1. Are there any good places to find an M3 other than the obvious eBay etc
these days?

2. As I am only really interested in the module which models can you extract the module from?

3. Will the M3 Editor work with Logic Pro X

M3 is a fabulous machine,
I’d definitely recommend it.
The module could also be called the M3M, ie, M3 module,
The module is removable on all three model variations, 61, 76, 88.
Personally I prefer the whole keyboard rather than hooking the module up to something else,
Ebay is always the No1 place I go,

The M3 has just 73 keys there is not a 76 key model.

I agree. The M3 is an awesome machine, and very capable for the price at this point.

I would also try www.guitarcenter.com/used
They have a lot of used M3's usually, and they will ship to a store near you. And they have a 15 day return if it has any problems.

I also agree about using the factory controller rather than a Midi controller.
It's very well integrated, with the joystick and ribbon and buttons, etc.
Plus the action on the 61 model is the best synth action keybed I've ever played, up until my Kronos 2 which feels exactly the same to me as the M3.

if you are looking for a deal on the m3 or m3m e-bay for sure...
if you are looking for retail prices then the retail stores like gc…

at this point the m3 is old... so finding a like new item is getting harder..

I have had my best luck on e-bay...
but then again I am a tech so I have no issues with working on the unit!!

plan on doing the screen update and software update....
unless you get lucky and find a unit that is already done!!

so the questions for your self are.

what kind of action are you looking for?

piano action then do the 88 key version!

synth action then the only choice is the 61 key....

yes you can do this as just an m3m... but the mapping of the controls to your key bed can be a pain if you are not into buried menus...

so what sounds are you looking for???
the kronos is the latest offering from korg so far...

if you are looking at a larger system with lots of sound choices
do the m3 88 and add the Radias card and load up the memory, and add a radias rack unit as a side by side!!

you can get some cool large layers of sound with that!!
that is the way I built my m3-88 setup....
