Hey there,

I just got a new Electribe and I'm trying to sync the clock of the Electribe (master) to the MS (slave). The thing is, I just want to have the clock synct (actually it would be greag, if the play/stop action would be synced aswell).

Im new to all these MIDI functions, so maybe I got things wrong. This is how far I am.

I know there are parameters, which are send at a global level, which actually should be the things I want.

I set the MIDI settings on the electribe to:

global MIDI = 16 (pattern 16 is empty on elec.)
MIDI-Filter send = off

I set the MS settings to:

global MIDI = 16
clock = ext. MIDI

Now things happens:

If I go to the sequencer at the MS, the Sequencer is recieving notes (and other parameters) from the electribe at the MIDI-CH 1 - 16 matching the patterns on the tribe. If I set all patterns of the MS to MIDI-CH 16 aswell (which is empty on the tribe), I am able to controle the sequencer.

But:

I still got some signal running through. It appears a second voice (likely the standart piano) to my sound I programme at the sequencer.

I think I'm doing something substantially wrong. Can anyone give me a clue how I just tempo-sync the two synths?

I really appriciate any help. Thank you all.

I solved it somehow...

For anyone who is intrested.
Each track on the microstation can be set to off seperatly (go to track - status and set it to off)
So you can choose to use track 12-16 both on the tribe and the MS to controle the sounds and sequencer of the MS. Tracks 1-11 still reserved for the electribe only.

You are now able to controle things from the tribe aswell as from the MS. You can live record on the MS, you can put up a sequence and all seems synced, you can even controle filters from both instruments.

You could use it aswell for example to play both, the sound engine of the tribe and the MS to make the sound thicker - as far as I figured it out for now.

Both sequencer use MIDI-ch 1-16 for the seq-tracks.

Hope its ok what I tell, and I can help anyone else with it. Need to play around more.

Greetings
