Hi everybody,

I know this issue has been posted before, but I just wanted to check with other users if the noise is heard on both channels or just one. In my case it is only the right channel; is this to be expected?

I've used AKG headphones and Logitech so far, with identical results.

Mine is fine, so I would say this is not to be expected...

Thank you MrJed. Curious though as almost everyone reports some kind of noise on their Volcas.

I guess my unit is faulty, which is a bummer. I never managed to transfer files from my Mac (I could with the iPhone, but I don't want to rely on it forever; this is the kind of things that turn this "Sample Sequencer" into a toy" IMO)

Did you get a repair on your unit?

I got a volca sample this week, and whenever I use it with headphones I get a loud, constant hiss on the left channel. I get that the volcas are noisy, but this seem a bit extreme? Also strange that it's present on one channel only.

I run my volca sample on fresh batteries and have tried it with different headphones.

I know this topic has been discussed before, and that quite a lot of noise is to be expected. Put can anyone give me advice on if I should return the unit? Is it normal with a lot of noise on one channel only?

Hi gusbyheart. I just straight up swapped my faulty unit for one without issues. If you can do this at your local store where you bought the Volca Sample, by all means do it. These are excellent little machines, but Korg does not care as much as we'd like about their quality control.

Cheers!

I've never understood the noisy comments as I don't get noise out of my volcas. If you are experiencing noise that interferes significantly with the audio signal this should always be though of as a problem.

It is a legit issue. Tinkerers have reported (myself included), that re-situating the wires to the display can decrease noise floor. It's either those wires or some other wires that are sometimes too close to the display. Display is creating audio interference.
