I'm sure this has been coverd to death but being new to the forum & a new owner of a Korg Kronos... how do you assign each layer of a multilayer to a pedal or volume pedal?

Welcome! In your combi, just go to the Midi Filter/Zone tab and it will bring up Midi Filters #1, #2 and #3 where you can enable or disable damper (#1) or foot switch and pedal (#3).

If you haven't already you definitely want to download the operator and parameter manuals from the Korg site.

In Global Mode go to the Controllers Tab. Set the Pedal to CC11 (Expression). In Combi Mode you can create splits and layers and filter the timbres as necessary. Yes- read the manuals.
